CiCi's Pizza Sucks

November 5, 2005

My wife suggested we try CiCi's Pizza. Last night we gave our closest location a visit:

1765 Gallatin Road North
Madison, TN 37115

My experience was very bad to say the least:

Their salad bar had no tomatoes or shredded cheese. Aren't tomatoes the second thing you put on a salad after the lettuce?

The soda dispenser didn't have Mountain Dew or Mellow Yellow or Pepsi or Tea, any of which I would choose to drink. My family and I drank Coke instead. It tasted very watered down to all of us.

The drink cups were very small. I had to wait in line to refill my cup several times. A larger cup would have meant less trips to the dispenser and less waiting in line. My kids cups were even smaller than mine. What exactly is the point of that? They act like someone is gonna drink too much. If an all you can eat/drink buffet business model doesn't work then why do it?

We waited for 10 minutes just for a booth to open up after waiting in a very long line to get our food. Seems very poor practice to over-sell the seating capacity. Maybe they could ditch some of the useless noise-making amusements in the back and replace them with more seats. The seats they did have were so close together people kept bumping into me as they walked by to get drink refills. It's obvious they're herding people in like cattle.

There was a puddle of standing water under the table we sat at. I'm not sure how the person who cleared our table missed it, it was very obvious to me and my wife. Since there was no place else to sit, we didn't have much choice.

There was another puddle of spilled soda near the soda fountains. I complained to a worker but he didn't speak English. I don't speak Spanish so I pointed at it instead. He placed a wet floor sign near the puddle but never returned to clean it up.

I don't really care to listen to loud music while trying to eat sub-standard pizza, salad, and watered down Coke.

Yes, their prices are indeed very cheap.. and as always, you get what you pay for. I'd rather spend $35 at Pizza Hut than $20 at CiCi's. Thanks but no thanks.

Just like every store, restaurant or apples, there are some bad ones. The ones I frequent (Collierville, TN, Beavercreek, OH & Springfield, OH) are great! The people are friendly and remember my name. The only time I have gotten caught in a huge crowd was when a school bus of kids came, but that happens.

That's too bad, try another one under different management. Ours is really good. (So Far)
